Judbarra National Park, formerly known as Gregory National Park, is located 359 km south of Darwin and closest to Katherine. It is divided into two sections: the bigger Western section and smaller Eastern section. The park was dual named Judbarra/Gregory National Park until 2021.

Gregory National Park doesn't have the scenic attractions of the wetland NT Parks, but is sited in unique country with great historical significance and offers good off-road driving. Gregory is in two bits: a spectacular gorge section at Victoria River Crossing and a much larger chunk immediately south of Timber Creek.

So much room and so close to a couple of strenous hikes. Do them both. The Escarpment hike takes around 1 1/2 hours. Difficult trek up a rocky path but the view at the top is worth it.
